My precious, precious niece. She has been checking the blog diligently for the past couple weeks, because well, frankly I made her wait just like everyone else. Bad Aunt! She yelled at me Thursday night about her photos…but it just so happened she was next in line. :)
We had a lot of fun going around and exploring new territory together. Lately I find that I am really enjoying finding new locations on the fly, just being completely spontaneous. This is completely unlike me but I found myself inspired by the fabulous Brianna Graham. She said that she prefers not to check out her locations ahead of time because then she has no expectations or preconceived ideas about lighting conditions, where it will fall, etc. Some of my most favorite sessions lately are ones where I just start driving and stop when I feel like something looks right. We found some super rad locations doing this. We also found some scary locations doing this, but we hurried and moved on.
Kate, you are so stinkin’ adorable. This is when all those people were outside watching us like you were a celebrity or something.

jess, i was just thinking…you know how they do “day after” or “trash the dress” sessions for weddings? there should be a prom dress version. for example, i have a beautiful prom dress that i’ll never do anything with again, but i just love it so i don’t want to get rid of it. i know a lot of girls who feel the same way. there should definitely be a “trash the dress: prom edition!” :)
