I really like taking pictures when my mom lets me use her camera. I want a camera for my birthday. I want a 5D.
I saw Gabe drawing, so I decided to take some pictures of him. I thought it would be boring, but it was actually fun. I thought I would only take a few photos. It was really cool watching him, so I kept going.
I love nature just like my Dad and Mom. My Mom said that when I was a baby she would take me outside and I would go nuts and it would be hard to drag me back in the door.
I would like to take pictures of my friends fence post lizards at their house. I really like reptiles a lot. I have been inspired by them since I could read and write. Some day I would like to be a biologist or zoologist and photograph reptiles.”

I had no idea that Adin did this shoot until I loaded my card from my camera. He claims I said, “yes” when he asked to use the camera, although I have no recollection of this. (Moms out there may understand what I’m saying….) After loading the card I found that he took over 100 photos, capturing a whole story about his little brother creating art. Flipping through them I found myself overwhelmed with emotion. I was so proud. He adjusted his exposure properly, his compositions were right on, and he worked every single angle. Most importantly, he felt connected and inspired by something, and was moved enough that he needed to capture it. My favorite part…..the shots with his feet-proof of his work. His own art. I applauded his natural gift for visual storytelling…and I told him I hope for more surprise shoots down the road. But no…no 5D.

Okay. This is the cutest post i’ve ever seen. Not only is it absolutely adorable the way Adin felt so connected to Gabe while he was drawing, but his photos are really really good! If you had said you shot these, I would have believed it. Well done, Adin! and could those guys of yours be any cuter? I just love this.

technical prowess aside… what a cool kid. Story telling of the beauty in our every-day is almost a lost art. What a talent to be able to capture the essence of a moment at such a young age. You must be a very, very proud mama :)
SO precious. Hehe…I love how Gabe is holding his drawing up in a lot of the snapshots. I also enjoy seeing how Adin is influenced by the way both you and Brett photograph! I bet it was tough to edit this group – meaning, I bet it was hard choosing your favorties to show out of those 100! Great job Adin! I’d be a proud mama, too :)
