If you missed the first part of our vacation, look here, then come back. :) Here are a few more days of our family trip in October.
We spent a day at Bandelier National Monument, where we were able to explore around ancient ruins of the Pueblo people. I heard someone say it was home to Anasazi people, which the kids loved because we studied them a bit last year.
The kids loved climbing into the cliff dwellings.
Some of Brett’s college buddies came along. Here’s Mark and Gracie. :)
Brett’s friend Jacob came with his family as well.
Dinner at Mark and Mel’s was a great end to the evening. Can you tell I like my little boy?
Sunset outside their house…
Next day – Poor Priya
New Mexico is known for its red chile peppers…
Priya’s 11th birthday was the day we arrived to New Mexico. She loved when she was serenaded. ;)
Thanks for looking. I’m not done just yet. ;)
New Mexico just moved waaaaay up on my list of places to visit.
LOVE these images…so beautiful!
This place is so beautiful–I want to hop on a plane and go there right now!!!
Oh my goodness I just love joining your family on these vacations thanks to your photographs! Gabe’s little UGGs killed me in these posts, and Riah’s cowboy boots too! And could four kiddos love their uncle more?
Great shots friend!
I’m totally SMITTEN with these! I adore the one with you two hugging and LOVE the one of Brett climbing out of the ground. What a great photo really…
Jessica, the photo with the light coming through the opening and with him on the ladder is to die for! You did an amazing job with this photo! It’s one of my favorite of any of the photos I’ve seen of yours! I don’t normally leave you comments but I love it so much I just had to. -Alyson
gahhhhh I love these and I love you guys! Do you think it would be totally weird to hang Z family portraits on MY walls because y’all are so stinkin’ gorgeous? :)) PS: picture of ladder leading up and out of dwelling (16?) = perfection. Thanks for sharing!
Another beautiful set! I also loved the Uncle J photo. Can I ask who took the pictures when neither you nor your husband had the camera? They are great shots (28 & 32)!
@Xylia: #28 (living room shot) was a self timer, and #32 (me + brett) was taken by our daughter. :) Thanks everyone for the kind words! – jess
That shot of j in the light. Holy shit. Next level.
Your pictures are ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! Thanks so much for sharing them. The light, the beautiful vistas….BREATHTAKING!
I like the look on Brett’s face while Priya was getting serenaded for her birthday! So funny!
What a fun trip and fabulous photos! We visited New Mexico the past two summers and have fallen in love with it. Your photos make me want to plan our next visit. Your family is just beautiful.
My boyfriend has been dropplet little seedlets of thoughts to grow in my head…he would like to get married in New Mexico. His reasoning is because of the scenes in Crazy Heart, which I have never seen. Up until seeing your pictures, I was entertaining his idea, but wasn’t quite sold…now I WANT to get married in New Mexico and I want to take you with me!
Thanks for sharing your amazing work.
