We first photographed this sweet family back in 2012, three weeks after they brought Henry home. Brett and I were both so moved by the love and emotions involved in that session, and it still remains a favorite of ours to this day.
We were completely booked last fall and not taking anymore sessions when I got an email from Brooke saying they were moving away. They wanted one last Ohio session! Of course there was no way we could turn them down.
Seeing how Henry had grown into a little mini-man just made our day. He was so loving and polite, even addressing Brett and I by name. It took everything in me to not just hug that little charmer the whole time! And Brooke and Doug….such amazing parents. What a beautifully tight knit bond they have created together.
Such a precious family.
A year has gone by since our sweet niece made her appearance into this world, and now we just can’t imagine life without her. Her personality is so precious, and we love witnessing it continually blossom. Already we see evidence of her sensitive heart and caring spirit. When she sees other children she waves and screams in delight, and when shes sees a baby crying, she gets a solemn look and wants to immediately go and pet them to calm them down.
I find birth order fascinating, and as a first born myself I can’t help but laugh at all of Lilah’s first born traits. She has a strong nurturing side and no doubt has a spunky and driven personality, which often throws my sis (who’s a baby in birth order) for a loop. It just makes me laugh and laugh. :) I LOVE this little gal and her big personality!
Ashley and Adam recently sold their house and decided to do Lilah’s session in the empty home before saying goodbye. It was where they brought her home and she spent her first year of life, so it seemed perfectly fitting to close this chapter within those walls.
This little sweetie DOES NOT sit still, so this session was more like a game of “catching the blur named Lilah.” Regardless, I think we managed to captured her true sweet and ridiculously fun spirit in these photographs.
One of her favorite tricks to show people is her somersault. ;) She will just drop down and stick her head and the floor, waiting for Mama or Daddy to flip her.
I wanted to capture this window scene of Lilah and her daddy since we did the same shot when she was a newborn…..
For a family filled with big brown eyes, we Wallaces are just completely smitten with those big baby blues!
Seriously??!!! I want a canvas of this face below.
Crazy Uncle Baba. I picture her saying, “Look at this guy.”
And then while practicing her famous somersaults she did a bit of a head flop on the hardwood. Big tears and pouty lip ensued. :(
Then Aunt Jesse started making the ceiling fan pulls sing and dance….or something like that. Whatever I did, it was pure magic to her. ;)
And then of course she had to touch them herself….
Outfit change, she got Aunt Jesse’s phone like she wanted, and then she wanted Uncle Baba’s camera too. She had to review her photos.
Little Lilah,
Aunt Jesse, Uncle Baba, and all of your crazy cousins just adore you! We’re all so blessed to have you in our lives and pray that the Lord guides your path through all the birthdays ahead. Love you, little precious.
That is one handsome boy and one beautiful family. I so loved looking at these :)
Oh these are so beautiful! I just LOVE the shot of that kiddo in his O shirt too. What a sweet family!
