Angie is an old friend of Brett’s, and their families have been intertwined for many years. I was good friends with Angie’s younger brother, and we all went to a tiny private Christian School here in Cincy. Since we started our photography business, Angie has not only been a huge fan, but a fantastic supporter- sending anyone she can tell our way. We thought it was her time in front of the camera….we had done a session of their kids over a year ago, but she has been avoiding the camera at ALLL costs. In fact, if I didn’t keep her to this, I think she would have found a way to weasel out. ;) But they haven’t had photos of the two of them EVER that they are happy with, so I wanted to make that happen.
Angie had been saying for weeks, “I just don’t think I can look like those couples you shoot!” I just kept telling her she would do fine. We went out and had a great dinner (and drinks), and then headed out to get some great shots of her with her amazing hubby.
Bryan was not nervous at all…in fact I think he could have done a solo shoot. :)
So many funny things were said during this shoot. I think they were asking, “What do we do next?” And Brett responded, “Make a baby.”
We decided to just push her limit to get her comfortable, so we said “Hop up on his back.” Angie said, “Seriously?”
Ties.
Beautiful couple.
We laughed A LOT on this shoot!
Too cool, for school.
Love this one.
HOT SHOES Angie.
My favorite. LOVE this shot.
We played a little, “1-2-3 do whatever you want.” I can’t tell you what they BOTH did on the count of three, but we all were dying laughing. :)
We visited the place where Bryan first proposed. I love the city lights.
Pretty, pretty.
Couple actions shots I took of Brett. His stance was making me laugh…then I figured out he was holding back the ivy. :)
He finished and I snagged his beautiful smile…*love* that crazy boy.
my hired monkey….
Angie, you can calm down now. It’s all over. :) We had such a great night with you guys- more like running around and playing like little kids. Now, we can look forward to your family session this fall!! :) Much love to you and Bryan! (Bryan, you’re a trooper!)
love, Brett and Jess
Meet Stacey and Morgan!
These newlyweds are super adorable and fun!!! When Stacey emailed me about doing photos of her and her husband, I was super flattered, because she is a fabulous wedding photographer in New York City. They were going to be traveling to Ohio to visit some of Morgan’s family, and she said they would love to do a session with us. So, of course, we made it happen.
They drove 3 hrs. to the session from Morgan’s family’s house. Can I just say, it’s enough pressure shooting another photographer, but to have them travel in for a session puts even MORE pressure on! :) As soon as we meet them though, we knew it would be fine. They are fun and laid back, and were up for any adventure we wanted to take them on. So that’s what we did- went on a little adventure.
I love light. The way it moves and paints people.
Not to mention they were super hot in it.
body language…
HELLOOOO Stacey!!
(you are beautiful)
Big, beautiful, open field- Yes we’ll take some of that.
Since these two call Manhattan home, they were up for crazy “ruralness”….as long as I could keep the bugs away. :)
It’s been a while since I have done one of these:
Here is Brett’s view….
And my view of the same shot.
I am in love with this scene…{this moment}.
ahhhhhh….to love and be loved.
What else can you ask for in this world…
my favorite shot from the session.
Morgan your eyes are UNREAL. Gorgeous!
New location…same hotness.
If you haven’t noticed, I added some new banners at the top of the blog, and one from this scene is up there. :)
BTW, Brett was standing and had me on his shoulder’s to take this shot.
(Sorry honey for giving you a backache for a week!!! ) ;)
So them.
Love this shot, and the flowers in her hair = perfect.
NO, THIS is SOOOO them.
(I think Morgan was saying he was about DONE.)
:)
The cutest “chimper” around.
Stacey and Morgan, you guys ROCK. Thanks for driving down and spending an evening in the “burbs” with little ol’ us. :) We had so much fun with you guys. Make sure to let us know when you are back in the wonderful midwest, and we’ll take you out for drinks instead of to a field of grass.
xxoo jess+brett
Oh My Goodness – these are PERFECT. I always thought you guys could capture people’s personalities, but since I haven’t really known your subjects I was really just guessing… But I know Byan and Angie.
Angie looks amazing… AMAZING! I wish she realized that more! And those shoes… !
these are fabulous! my fave is the one you said is your fave…haha and i also love the shots in the road. beautiful job!
Just love how you tell the story behind the photo’s!!! And love love love all the shots, they look like al lot of fun, but also are very pretty!!!
I cant believe they were hesitant to take pics!! These pics are awesome!! They both look great :)
Yes, they are a BEAUTIFUL couple and these shots have so much personality. Angie reminds me of Toni Collette in a couple shots, particularly the 9th one down, black and white. =) I mean that as a total compliment too, I adore Toni Collette. ;)
love this evening shoot! angie is so dang pretty! her and bryan make the most adorable couple. esp. love that long leaning against the wall pic, and the one with them in the forefront with ang looking all sultry with her eyes shut. work it mama!
love the emotions captured!
they just proved that middle age people are HOT!!!!!!!!!! my mom would be hitting me right now… :-) amazing photos!
Really great session! But the “Monkey shot” made my day *lol* Best, Alex
I think that Pat and Brett would get along! How do they get in those funky positions? :) Love the brick wall with the one light!
