I was reminded as I went back and looked over our sweet niece’s newborn and then one year photos, time is passing quickly. Lilah is a fully active two years old now, and she surely keeps her parents on their toes—just as she has done since her intense 4-day entrance into this world! These days Lilah is talking, and running, and climbing EVERYTHING, and pointing, and pretty much letting you know exactly what she wants in this life. Some things she loves: eating fruit, old classic movies, her cousin Ri-Ri, playing outside, and Moses from the bible (she points to men at the grocery and says, “Moses!!”) My sis, Ashley, has to work to keep up with her, as she is only a few weeks away from having baby #2. Yes, Lilah doesn’t realize it fully, but she’s on the brink of having to share her awesome world. ;)
Lilah’s favorite place to be is HOME, so I figured it would be the best choice for this session. I followed her around as she showed me her games, how she hides in the kitchen curtains, and then we played “chase each other around the house,” one of her favorites. It was fun having time with just her…normally the cousins are the main attraction when I’m around, but I was alone this time.
One thing is for sure, we love our sweet girl so much. She is beyond precious!
We quickly packed our bags in early February and headed south! Brett was called down to Florida for his work, and at the last moment we decided to all tag along. We still had loads of schoolwork, but I figured, working on the beach beats school at the dining room table, right? The kids seemed to agree. As it turns out there was a huge cold front that moved over the area while we were there, so the last couple days when it hit 70 we were beyond thankful! Wearing your coat and hat in Florida somehow just doesn’t seem right…
Goodness, we felt extremely deficient in fresh air and real vitamin D, but this trip helped us begin to thaw. I’ve now decided that February should be dubbed “Travel Month” to maintain winter sanity.
After Brett’s work concluded, we took the weekend for long bike rides, park and beach exploring, and making some good meals. The kids booted us out, and Brett and I enjoyed a few dates around Anna Marie Island. It was a nice getaway for our first trip of 2015, but trip number two (the one that Brett and I had been dreaming of for a year) was just around the corner….
Happy Birthday to you and many more to come!
