This was my request last Monday when our baby woke up a seven year old.
Being homeschooled, our children don’t get those formal school portraits to document their year. I used to dress them up and do my own formal session for each, but they ended up dreading it and honestly, it felt too contrived for our family’s style. Instead I’ve just gone back to letting the camera meet our everyday. We stay simple now even for the yearly photos because really, we like keeping it real–dirty knees and all.
We celebrated Gabe’s birthday evening at his grandma’s house. I asked him if he would please step outside for five minutes before it was completely dark. Somewhat reluctantly, he obliged. Uncle Jason was in town visiting, making the day even more fun. Gabe had his uncle, siblings, and cousins, so the quick session ended up capturing some sweet and joyous family time.
Most importantly though, turning seven meant he got his first pocket knife…he’d really want you to know. ;)
We randomly met Martha and David at Costco last year. David approached us and shared that Martha has been following our blog and family for years. We chatted for a bit, and it honestly made our day. :) A few months later, I received a sweet email from Martha that David had popped the question! Brett and I were thrilled to work with these two and get to know them. They’re soft spoken, incredibly sweet, and very much in love. We’re so looking forward to their special day together this fall.
Love these so much!!!!! Your little baby is a BOY!
