Today we sit with snow up to our eyeballs. It is just gorgeous. Especially peeking out at it while curled up in blanket and sitting next to a fire. I’m a bit under the weather with a junked up throat (to be perfectly technical), and neck glands so swollen they feel bruised. FYI, did you know if your tonsils are taken out, it causes your neck glands to overcompensate? Fun for my neck.
Here are a few shots that made me happy today. My 5 year old sweetheart Riah is obsessed with making book towers. He sits for literally HOURS building and rebuilding different shapes and sizes of book “towers.” I must admit, it makes my heart giddy to see him so in love with this and not TV, computer, or video games. He was so involved that if someone came in and disturbed “his groove” he was very distraught. So, we made a special corner all his own to build to his hearts content. :)
If you know me from when I was a kid, you know where he gets the tongue thing from. I can’t help but do this when I am in full concentration mode.
He finally let his brother help out. I don’t think he was very excited with the idea.
More blogging to come when I feel a bit better, with a gorgeous wedding coming first. I am also busy prepping for my sister’s wedding shower at my house this weekend…..Thanks to my mother I have the “my house must be perfect” illness. On the up side of that, Brett and I are doing lots of projects that were put on hold for like, years.

KELLY AND MARK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
I can’t wait to see this photo on canvas!!!! Congrats to Kelly and Mark! :)
Here’s to 2010 everyone!
Thanks again.
Ahhh…I love seeing Riah on the blog! Is he your quiet one? He just looks like a quiet, studious little guy :) I love that!
PS – I LOVE the book tower building too. I hope my kiddos are that into entertaining themselves. When I was little, I guess I used to keep office hours and when my mom would ask what I was doing I’d say, “Leave me alone..I busy, I bussyy!” hahaha OMG, I just realized I’ve been Type A since I was 5!
My daughter and I love the book towers! Her eyes just lit up when I showed her your photos. Oh, I hope you get better soon and I feel your pain about the “my house must be perfect when guests come” syndrome. I have lately started to let go of those rules that I made for myself and then no one was around to enforce them anymore. Ha! It feels great!
how awesome is that?!?! i love this so much! i love that he will sit and make these.
I LOVE your photos!! Roxanna (Duke) is one of my best friends and she t alks about yal all the time!
these are wonderful. what amazing memories to have when they get older…for you that is. ;) anything to help us remember those precious times that slip away too fast.
Oh he is so cute…and having so much fun that big brother decided to step in and help! I’m home-schooling my kids so I can be around them all day (among other reasons). Must be fun!
I really love your photos. I have spent a lot of time today just checking out different photographers blogs and have found some gems. I wanted you know that I enjoyed all of the photographs I looked at on here. You are definitely blessed with amazing talent!
I just thought I would tell you that you and a few other photographers have really inspired me :)
Thanks!

I used to work at an architecture firm and all the architects talked about building stuff as they grew up. Could come true.
