Looking at these photos takes me back to the beautiful sunshine that is so prevalent in Southern California!  If I didn’t love it so much, I’d hate it.  :)  So this session was another family session we had the pleasure of doing on our recent visit to the Los Angeles area.

We met up at their beautiful home where Dawn and Michael and their two girls Lauren and Isabella came outside to play for a bit.  The girls love to swing….we actually had a hard time getting them off!

I loved this little nook in their yard.  Lauren is older, and Isabella is the baby.

While Lauren played catch with her Daddy, Isabella sat and tossed the ball to her Mom.

She was curious as to why we were there.  :)

Sweet little family photo on their front steps.

Then we headed out!!  Dad pulled out his amazing vintage 1960 red Porsche (are you kidding me??!!), and combined with the light and the coast, I felt like we were in some sort of movie scene, and Audrey Hepburn was going to walk up.

Lauren, you’re a CUTIE!

We were walking around this corner and the light just took my breathe away….

Brett took Dawn and Michael off for a couple shots of the two of them.

I stayed with the girls who were DONE at this point.  Isabella wasn’t happy to be away from Mom, but I snagged 2 frames…this was the first, and I love it.

Then I scooped her up and calmed her down while she waited.  Oh my goodness…so sweet.  And after not seeing my Gabie Baby for 2 days, I was needing a kiddo cuddle.  :) :)

Dawn and Michael!  Thanks so much for having us out there to do a session! We loved getting to know the 4 of you, and we look forward to doing it again.  :)

the sigh.

I feel like this week has been one giant sigh….you know those kind of weeks.  Here’s an example from this morning. About 15 minutes after cleaning and vacuuming our playroom/soon to be office, it looked like this.

***INSERT MAJOR SIGH***  A sigh is so totally necessary in this case so one doesn’t go insane, and take all in reach with them…..YEP.

I’ve been feeling horrible about the office situation.  We had our office in the dining room for months and finally it drove me mad.  The only logical place is the small room off of our family room which currently is the playroom, otherwise known as the “dump-toys-and-all-other-random-things” room.  I feel guilty for taking over this space, and painting over the room that I did for the kids a few years back….but it’s the only way at this time.  And they have a bazillion other “play” areas around here.   So, tomorrow we begin this project.  Wish us luck.

Here’s a little photo that made me happy today.  Gabe has learned when the camera comes out, the “cheestastic” face goes on.  I have laughed so much at this photo today…I just had to show off my little ham.

More goodness coming soon from our shoots in California, so keep an eye out.  :)
