“The best things in life are nearest: Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you. Then do not grasp at the stars, but do life’s plain, common work as it comes, certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things in life.”
Robert Louis Stevenson
photos taken from the car window on a drive home one recent evening….
Looking at these photos takes me back to the beautiful sunshine that is so prevalent in Southern California! If I didn’t love it so much, I’d hate it. :) So this session was another family session we had the pleasure of doing on our recent visit to the Los Angeles area.
We met up at their beautiful home where Dawn and Michael and their two girls Lauren and Isabella came outside to play for a bit. The girls love to swing….we actually had a hard time getting them off!
I loved this little nook in their yard. Lauren is older, and Isabella is the baby.
While Lauren played catch with her Daddy, Isabella sat and tossed the ball to her Mom.
She was curious as to why we were there. :)
Sweet little family photo on their front steps.
Then we headed out!! Dad pulled out his amazing vintage 1960 red Porsche (are you kidding me??!!), and combined with the light and the coast, I felt like we were in some sort of movie scene, and Audrey Hepburn was going to walk up.
Love this!
Lauren, you’re a CUTIE!
We were walking around this corner and the light just took my breathe away….
Brett took Dawn and Michael off for a couple shots of the two of them.
I stayed with the girls who were DONE at this point. Isabella wasn’t happy to be away from Mom, but I snagged 2 frames…this was the first, and I love it.
Then I scooped her up and calmed her down while she waited. Oh my goodness…so sweet. And after not seeing my Gabie Baby for 2 days, I was needing a kiddo cuddle. :) :)
Dawn and Michael! Thanks so much for having us out there to do a session! We loved getting to know the 4 of you, and we look forward to doing it again. :)

Beautiful! And I am so happy that people other than me take pictures of sunsets from their cars!
