Beginning today, I am sifting through our work over the past year and compiling some of our favorites from various sessions. I know what you are thinking…..it has been 2010 for nearly a month, but I had to make sure that all of my 2009 sessions were blogged before we could show them!
Just like last year, we are also going to have a little contest. I will post a new category every day or so this week (families, couples, wedding, etc.). You choose a favorite photo in each category and tell us which one it is, and WHY you like it in the comment box. Next Friday February 5th we will add up all of the votes for each photograph. The photo in each category with the most votes is the winner. The person in that particular photo will receive a FREE 8×10 of the photograph! But then listen to this….The ONE photo that gets the most votes overall, that person in the photo will receive a FREE 11x 14 canvas (a $250 value)!!! :)
So how do we decide the winners? YOU DO by commenting!! If you are featured on here feel free to tell your friends, neighbors and family to get in on the voting….but we ask PLEASE one vote per person. Let’s play fair!
First up….FAMILIES!
Some are big, some are small, some are new, some are seasoned….and a couple are just on the verge of the birth of their first child. We’ve loved the honor of capturing them all.

So which is your personal favorite? Tell us which one and why below!
Oooh..love all these – reminds me again of what wonderful work you and Brett do! Can I vote for all of them? No? Okay, well No. 40 it is then. Sorry, you guys just had me at Mad Men ;)
You guys do fantastic work and I’m definitely a blog stalker! :) My vote goes for #1 what a fantastic family portrait that I’m sure the family will treasure forever!
Number 1 had my vote from the beginning! They’re all wonderful, but none of them met the sweetness and beauty of number one. Number 40 came in a very close second. I love the vintage feel of it! 30 was a not-so-distant third with the beautiful sunset and scenery and the way he was holding her belly…just adorable.
First off, this is WAY too hard. If I HAVE to pick just one, I choose #5 because it’s an everyday moment no one would think to capture if it wasn’t for you two; a perfect like father, like son shot. Plus, action shots are tricky and this one is flawless! I heart sun spots.
I love number one – so simple and beautiful! Captures the entire family in a way no one else could catch but you.
#13 is my favorite. There is something so precious about that picture. Everything is perfect and peaceful!
Number 1. It is so beautiful.
#1 – because they were willing to take risks, trusted you and it turned out amazing – this could easily be a really bad image, lol. #4 because of the love and angle – this is the kind of picture that separates you from the dime a dozen photogs.#15 because it is technically a very hard shot and worthy of a huge canvas. I’m a huge fan of little people giant background #24 – great idea.
What an awesome group of photos you have here! Amazing work really and sooooo hard to pick! But, if you insist, then I pick #16. Such an incredible capture.
All of these are fantastic – you knew this! :) Bur I personally just love the last for that vintage late 60’s feel. Totally awesome!
My favorite is # 17. Love those faces!
#40 is my fave! it’s the vintage look that gets me. they all are lovely though :)
Hey guys, beautiful work! I have LOVED #40 since you posted that shoot, and I still love it!:) I really enjoy their choice of attire, but I also love the flow of the whole image: first and last person looking straight ahead, second and third person looking back, and baby looking straight at the camera. That’s what I think is so dynamic about this shot…and… the car is mighty sweet as well. I also love the complimentary colors represented in the car, and the mother’s dress, just lovely!:)
Wow! I love so many of them! I am going to have to vote for # 13. It is such a sweet picture of daddy and baby. You can tell he will be a daddy and not just a father!
16 because…well, i just love my niece more than words can describe & my big brother — this image is so them. ;)
I love 16. It reminds me of how small my son was when I first held him
#1 is such a precious moment between them and thats why they get my vote :)
#1, but oh, Jess and Brett, all of your families are so gorgeous and sweet and beautiful. Your work is totally fab! I picked #1 because it had me at hello. It has a classic, old world feel to it. Instead of Madonna and child, it is more like Madonna and family. So beautiful and full of emotion and love.
#30 is my favorite! I love them all though!
My vote is for #1. The lighting is absolutely beautiful. Great job.
#1 is my favorite and I remember loving it way back when you posted it the first time. There’s just so much emotion packed into one image…it makes my heart happy to look at it and that’s my favorite kind of picture :)
AMAZING! I vote for #13
I vote for #13 How precious,Daddy’s little girl!
18. duh.
Family #13
Is there anything sweeter than seeing a dad being affectionate with his baby?
I love how the newborn is holding onto dad’s thumbs as he carefully contains her within his hands.
they are all soooo good…but #1 takes my breath away
she looks so calm in daddys hands
#13 beacause she is calm in daddys hands
#40- It was hard to pick only one, they are all so great. But this one I find is quite special. The shot looks unreal with the clothes they are wearing and the car and all the colors, it looks like an image from an other time… Really great shot.
13 is my favorite.
love #13… it says it all! a New born without a care in the world! I think #8 might be the same baby,,.either way, the initial bonding of father and child. So many beautiful pictures of children, but 8 and 13 kind of stand out to me.
15.
symmetry :)
19!
Definitely #13. Great picture of father and daughter together.
# 13. A tender gesture and a pose that illustrates how small and defenseless little people really are. It’s a lovely and loving image.
# 13 a sweet family picture a new beginning you can see the loe growing
We love this child should be the name of this photo. If we can’t say it with words…a photo it timeless. So,so much love for this baby. Wow. # 13 rocks.

I’d say #1. It is so unique and u will never know if the photographer was presence. I also like #40. So cool..u can make it into 1960’s picture. I like the way how the family walk with hands held.
#35. Such a tender moment between mother and son.
#13 is great!! what a great daddy
#1 is still my fav! That photo just has emotion all over it.

#13. What a perfect picture.
#40 why not?
#40, great shot with clothes and scenery
I was going to say #5…until I saw #40. They are all awesome. #40 is just so original.
Difficult decision, however, I’m going with number 13!! So sweet.
#13 It looks like she is saying, I’m holding on daddy and ready for the ride!
#8 is a cute idea and so neat to look at with the sunset captures the moment. :)
Number 40 please!
#40 – The family looks awesome – love the colors, clothes, setting; LOVE everything!
Gotta go with #8 – Love the swing, the sun, and the cute little Filipino kids :)
