If you are one of the rare souls who reads what I write on posts before jumping to the photos, I am considering changing things up a bit. It has been brought to my attention that reading is not what you want FIRST on a photo blog, so usually “some” people (who will go unnamed :) skip the reading and go right to the photos. A suggestion was made to put the wording after the photos, so I am giving it a try. What do you think? If you have a sec, drop your thoughts in the comments box. Or you may have skipped this rambling all together if you are the type mentioned above! Anyhow, on to this post!
Family of 5!!
My favorite family shot.
I love how Jackson is turned around looking at his Mom and Dad. :) And his sister, with her arm propped up on his head!
Jackson, Kaitlyn, Samuel :)
Samuel’s favorite thing to do was pick grass and throw it at me. Glad I suggested it! It kept his attention :)
Jackson checking things out….
Pretty Kaitlyn.
Elizabeth and Marc :)
Look at that mischievous face on Jackson!!
More GRASS throwing!!!
Later Jackson playing at the playground. I love this angle Brett got.
And this too…he kept laying on the bridge and asking me to jump on it and he would go flying UP!!
My favorite. Elizabeth your eyes are GORGEOUS.
Brett and I have tooo much fun at the playground. We were running around and then we saw this mirror dome thingy and the reflection was making us laugh….we were like the CAMERA QUAD trying to keep up with these two little guys!! :)
This family consists of Mom and Dad (Elizabeth and Marc) and their 3 children, Kaitlyn (12), Jackson (4), and Samuel (3). We met up at the park for some picture time which come to find out from Mom, it has been over 6 years since they have had a family photo. 6 YEARS!!! Needless to say, she was REALLY wanting some photographs capturing them as a family. With 2 small active boys it was a bit tricky keeping things interesting enough, but all-in-all I think we managed to capture some good images of everyone.
Thanks to you guys for your patience and endurance! I hope the images you get will be well worth it. :)
I think the biggest compliment you can receive as an artist, is hearing that you have inspired someone in some way. When I received a comment on the blog from Alex of “Photo Finish” (a husband/wife team based in Germany), we were thrilled! We have so many people from different countries looking at our blog each day, but rarely do they leave a comment or drop a note saying hello. (I realize this could be due to language differences of course!) Just in the past month we have had visits from over 40 countries ranging from France, Belgium, Hong Kong, Singapore, Brazil, South Africa, India, Italy, Australia, and Spain- to name a few. And of course our new friends from Germany; Alex and Susanne. We were delighted to find out that they mentioned us on their blog, so “Danke Schoen” you guys! Now, take a moment and go:
And if you have never left us a comment, we would love to hear about you and where you are from! :)
What is a photo blog without a photo….here’s Gabe reorganizing our business cards which he does a few times a day.
I’ve been thinking about doing the same thing with the text after the photos…I just can’t decide!
i disagree. telling a story requires a preface or introduction, if you will. i vote for text before photos because when i scroll thru your pics slow i love that whole anticipation thing of “i wonder what bit of magic jess has instore for me in that next photo…” don’t go changin’. love the shoot! mama’s eyes are pretty. the kids are adorable. where do you find these gorgeous families???
Which text???? ;-)
I don´t mind where the it is…
Love 2nd pic!
Rock on
Alex
Personally, I like the text at the beginning. It’s nice to know a little bit about what’s going on in the pictures before I look at them. In fact, I’m more likely to skip the text at the end! By then, I’ve already seen the pictures! Haha!
After the introduction, I think it’s fun to have little comments directly above some of the images, too! = )
Either way, though, your photos speak for themselves! I’m sure whatever you decide will work out wonderfully!
My vote is for text before photos!
i LOVE text before photos…i love reading your little comments. love it.
Thanks all for the comments about where to put the text!! Seems unanimous, so I’ll stick to how I’ve always done it for now. :) Much LOVE to my BLOG READERS.
